Combat movie mistakes

I love movies, bad ones, good ones; I just love them. I can even enjoy movies with dumb gun tropes, but I also know when they are dumb gun tropes. Not just bad gun tropes, but tropes regarding all aspects of self-defense and violence. Guns, knives, fists and more.  Let’s be real here, these movies are far from accurate. They produce some very dumb situations in which a … [Read more...] about The 10 Most Common Gun, Knife, and Fist Fighting Movie Mistakes

Sig P365 Review: A Gunfighter's Pocket Pistol

[toc] The SIG P365 was introduced at SHOT Show 2018 to great applause and tons of love. The gun promised and delivered a subcompact gun that was the size of most single stack 9mms, with a 10 to 12 round capacity. Its dimensions were nearly the same as its closest competitor the Glock 43. It was the bell of the ball that was SHOT 2018. The gun hit the market shortly after … [Read more...] about The Sig Sauer P365: A Gunfighter’s Pocket Pistol

TRAINED VS. NOT TRAINED There is no doubt, someon TRAINED VS. NOT TRAINED

There is no doubt, someone who has trained to fight and defend themselves is at a HUGE advantage over someone who has not.

Who would you rather be like? The dad, or the 'sex offender'?

NOTE: We love grappling and have been doing so since Royce Gracie (@realroyce) opened everyone's eyes to it. But keep in mind, depending on the situation, the last place you want to be is on the ground during a fight. Remember, in the 'real world' there are no rules, there is no cheating, weapons are standard, and don't bank on a fight being one-on-one.

DM for credit.

PREPARED vs NOT PREPARED We don't know all the det PREPARED vs NOT PREPARED
We don't know all the details here, but from what we've gathered thus far, the lady was working in the back office of an establishment, and the thief was likely looking for cash or some kind of paperwork.

The details, however, are irrelevant for our purposes in sharing the video.

Be honest with yourself. Has any of your training prepared you for something like this? For some of you, perhaps. If not, we hope this encourages you to train and even adjust the way you train.

The lady was caught by surprise, physically overpowered, and from what we can tell, not trained.

Man or woman, anyone can be caught in a similar situation.

What could she have done? There are many things that are easy to point out after the fact, like using the monitor as a weapon or having mace/pepper spray handy. Again, lots of things, but that's not the point.

Here, if one hasn't prepared for anything like this, he or she will likely end up in a similar situation, or worse.

Get out there and train.
