Watch Episode #9
In Episode #9, we focus on the practical topic of home defense. We’re not talking about the best gun for home defense here.
When we train to shoot, we isolate the specific skill of shooting and may overlook the fact that it’s important to know how to apply this skill to real-life, practical self-defense situations.
In mixed martial arts, for example, fighters spend a lot of time kicking and punching heavy bags and focus mitts. However, being able to punch and kick well doesn’t mean they can fight well.
They need to know a lot more! They need to work on defense, timing, awareness, and actual sparring, just to name a few things.
There’s a lot to consider in addition to the act of shooting, too.
If we hear a bump in the night when we’re home, what should you do? Do you know the right way to open doors? Do you know how to safely move from room to room? Do you know how to scan for threats before entering a room? What if you have family members in other rooms?
Episode #9 is great for everyone who wants to learn the basics of moving within their home in a home defense situation.
We covered a lot of material but did our best to include major points of instruction. There are a lot of little details covered, so if you’re new to the topic, make sure to pay attention!
We hope you like the episode!
