MantisX Model Comparison: Mantis X2 vs X3 and Mantis X3 vs X10 Elite

Last Update:

Thinking about buying a MantisX sensor but not sure which model you should get? If you answered yes, we’re here to help.

The MantisX system is awesome, and we highly recommend it to everyone. But what’s the difference among all the models?

We’ve used all of the MantisX models extensively and will compare them so you can pick the one that best suits your needs and budget.

Let’s get to it…

Overview of the MantisX Models: X2, X3, and X10

Mantis X2

If you’re looking for a sensor strictly for just dry fire training, this sensor is perfect as it was built for dry fire practice only. It provides real-time, shot-by-shot feedback for both pistol and rifle users and is the cheapest sensor in the MantisX family at $99.

It tracks all of your sessions so you can monitor your performance over time, and the mobile app provides insights on your performance, sharing tips on how you can get better. It’s a great cost-effective option for shooters who want to take their dry fire training to another level.

Mantis X3

If you want more functionality, you may want to go with the Mantis X3. The X3 does everything the X2 does, but it also works with live fire training.

That might not mean a lot to you, but using the sensor during live fire is a game changer. Dry fire training is important, but we all know it isn’t exactly the same as live fire training.

When you shoot live ammo, the recoil will make your hands and your firearm move in directions you can’t perceive with the human eye. The MantisX sensor, however, will be able to detect your moves and will give you all of that data so you can make adjustments and improve faster.

The Mantis X3 runs for $169.

Mantis X10

The Mantis X10 is their top-of-the-line sensor. It combines all of the functionality and features of the X2 and X3 sensors, and it includes additional features like recoil analysis, holster draw analysis, and consistency comparisons. You can also use the X10 with shotguns and bows.

It is their best seller and the model we recommend to everyone. If you’ve been eyeing this model, make sure to read our Mantis X10 Elite review.

The X10 costs $249 but is worth every penny.

Which MantisX Sensor is Best?

To us, it’s pretty clear. The Mantis X10 Elite is the winner by far. It does everything that the X2 and X3 do and a whole lot more. It costs more, but it is worth every penny.

Don’t believe me? Make sure to check out my review of the X10 here.

That said, the X2 and X3 are great, too. The X10 just provides a lot more value and is more versatile.

Definitely make sure to pick one up, and you’ll see improvement quickly!
